Little Havana

Douglas Road/West 37th Avenue (West)
I-95 near Calle Ocho (East)
Miami River (North)
SW 11th Street (South)

Just a little west of Miami Downtown, there is a Little Havana, originally Cuban neighborhood with typical Cuban atmosphere and feel. From about 1970’s until 1990’s it was a place occupied strictly with Cubans, these days many South and Central Americans call it a home as well.

Streets filled with smell of tobacco, with many authentic shops and restaurants. It’s main attraction is Calle Ocho street, which also hosts Calle Ocho festival, largest street festival in the world.
Although this area is far less dangerous than it was in the past, we do not recommend to walk into distant neighborhoods after dark, gang related crimes are still present.
