Vizcaya Museum & Gardens

Built in 1916, this Italian Renaissance and Baroque-style national historic landmark was the winter home of agricultural industrialist James Deering, who wanted the estate to resemble a 400-year-old Italian villa. Vizcaya is beautifully maintained 34 room mansion, surrounded by acres of Euopean style gardens. Gardens are filled with fountains and statues.

Villa Vizcaya should be on everyones bucket list, if you’re visiting Miami area. Amazing bayside view, splendid gardens, excellent staff, that cares about the surroundings. To many visitors, this place seems like stepping back in the time. The estate was originally completely surrounded by subtropical forrest and swamps. Gardens, as we see them today appeared as a dreamlike vision of silence oasis and green, miraculously preserved just south of Miami’s modern skyline.
